I love F1!!

F1 was a great experience for me. The noise made by the racers, the night scenery of singapore and the wonderful atmosphere there was really an eye-opener for me. My duty was 4pm to 12 midnight where I reached home at about 1.30 am for 3 days. However, now i kind of miss F1, especially the ear-splitting noise I've enduring for the past 3 days. I will definitely sign up to help next year.

Day 1

Met with michelle at city hall mrt station. Many people can up to ask whether we were selling tickets or do we have tickets for them. After that, she walked to gate 7 to tap her card where i proceeded to gate 1 to tap.

Saw yingying at the canteen. She's an usher.

That's all for Day 1. Didn't managed to take much pictures though. It was quite boring.

Day 2

Reported at gate 1 as usual and proceeded to gate 1a for duty. Sea picked me and Melvin, a year 3 guy, to go singapore flyer jetty to help. Before that, we ate our dinner and went to meet rosalind at the over bridge to lead us there

we had to walk back to gate 1 to tap out cos we tapped in there.this is the track.

the trip was damn long. took us almost 20mins. when we reached there, all the other ticketing inspectors went home le.

F1 training

Just came back from suntec. The sun was so scorching this afternoon. I'm a ticketing inspector, think it's the most slack job at the F1. The shirt is so ugly la. Blue colour somemore with orange prints, the colour combination is the worst I've ever encounter. Anyway, got the badge where it only states Hong Yi Ni and the F1 pass where they enlongated my face. Its super ugly lor, don't know how will i take mrt on friday.

At last, there is someone who also have the diploma plus thing. Sharyl, Benny and Nuo Shi. Yay. Finally...

Anyway, yesterday went to eat crab with ah ma and ah gong at Tiong Bahru. Long time never see them le.

chicken in cabbage (which I only ate like a small protion of the wing)

sambal kangkong

I forgot what this is, but it taste a bit weird

fish maw soup, which I only took a few sips

The finale: The crab!! I think its cooked with vermicelli.
Although it doesn't look appetising, it really taste good.
There were 2 big crabs somemore.
The meal costed a bomb! Burned a hole out of papa's pocket. $244!! Then got complimentary 2 $10 vouncher for next time.

After that, fetched ah ma and ah gong home then went people's park as mummy wants to buy spectacles. Went up the carpark and saw the long long queue of cars waiting to go out.
It was because of one lady who forgot where she put her cash card and jammed the whole queue. Think the queue stretched up to the 4th storey.

In the end, when it was our turn to go home, the situation is as bad as before.

Papa bought some chinese medicine thing. The one that sucked the qi out of your body. Think he and mummy kena cheated le. Amanda and me keep persuading them not to buy, then they still buy. After that still want to buy somemore things from that shop. Whoa, I persuade till I going to no voice le then at last they managed to stepped out of the shop.
Super tired now because of the training, my gate is like at gate 1A, the most ulu area. Even our meals is settled there at gate 1 and not at gate 7 where everyone else's. Hope its not too warm there as its waterfront.
P.S. Anyone who msg me, if I don't reply, it means tat my phone cannot send msg at the moment. Don't know hhow come like that also. But I can call out as well as receive calls and sms

diploma plus again

haiz. received another letter about the diploma plus programme again. This time is the Certificate in Business which will be about economics I think. Fundamentals of Economics, Introduction to Marketing, Introduction to Accounting and Essentials of Finance Aiyo. Don't know what to do now.

Ever since 1st 3 months, I had no interest in economics. The worse thing is papa say he wants me to go for it. He don't mind picking me from school so late and paying for the fees. Really don't know what to do now. Both sound as boring. I pray I won't receive another letter tommorrow.

Diploma Plus?

Mum just passed me a letter from SP, stating about a diploma plus programme which is CERTIFICATE IN SOFTWARE PROGRAMMING AND APPLICATIONS. It does not even sound interesting.

I think its about Spreadsheet Programming & Database Management, C# Programming, Object-Oriented Development and Net Applications. Sound boring hor? Now, asking around see whether have people also have the letter. So few people online now. Maybe I'll wait till maybe later in the night then ask bah.

If anyone also have the letter please tell me k? But think I'll reject the letter bah. See how first.

Now alone at home again, so sian. I'm supposed to follow papa to office today but didn't managed to wake up at 6. Instead, I woke up at 8!! Got scolded by mum. She say tmr must go office help le.

Yesterday's duty was quite slack la. Not many passengers. Think I don't even have to escort them yesterday but kept seeing weiye and kay jun escorting passengers. Most of the time was just standing at CSO counter stoning. However, audit yesterday was such a killer!! Only managed to answer 30% I think. Must go walkabout more often le. =)

Anyway, now ironing clothes since I'm stuck at home. Got scalded by the iron when reaching for my phone. Ran my hand over cold water, hope it'll be better. Later then go ironing again. Don't think mum let me go training tooday le. Last night asked her, then she say see how. Every time say see how=cannot go de.

So envious of him. Anyway, I should study hard and aim to go for overseas attachment. Tomorrow have CDP which is at Orchard and wed have class chalet. Hope papa allows me to go home after lunch to wash up and maybe take a quick map before I make my way to the airport. I want to go earlier to walk transit, but think I'll be loner today since I dunno anyone in monday duty except for Shazlin who's duty is in arrivals. Gtg back to work now.

Just had my piano lesson just now. It has been like 5 years since I laid my fingers on it. Luckily the teacher say I'm still ok considering the fact that I haven played on the piano since my PSLE. I'll be taking Grade 5 Practical and Theory. But for the time being, I have to revise my grade 3 and 4 theory first as I have long forgotten about it le. Miss Chan will be bringing more pieces next week for me to practise and purchase grades 3, 4 and 5 theory books as well as grade 5 sight reading and scales.

movie

Last night went to watch money not enough with family. I didn't really tear la, but it was quite touching. Anyway, I found out something wrong about the show. In the beginning, the ERP part, there was one scene where it stated EPR instead of ERP. Maybe it was done on purpose.

1st duty

Yesterday was my 1st duty for CYA. It was tiring la, but enriching.

I met up with Felicia and Michelle at Tanjong Pagar to go sign the F1 race thing. Fortuanately or unfortunately, I met Ka Ching in the Simei mrt where I went to Simei to take my passport size photo. When i went to the photoshop, I was so happy that it was opened. However, the lady told me can take the photo at that time but only can collect it after 1. So, I have no choice but to use the one at the mrt station. I felt so out of place when I approached the machine because so many people was looking. However, I still went in in the end. I took my photo, collected it and got on the train to Tanjong Pagar.

After signing the F1 paper, the 3 of us(Michelle, Felicia and me) 'embarked' on our journey to the airport. My stomach was growling all the while because I have not eaten anything since morning. We brainstormed on what to eat using our Max Guide. Upon reaching the airport, we changed our pass at like 2.15! It seems that we are so kaisu.

Anyway, after lunch, we had a walkabout around the public area which have very few things as compared to the transit. When its 3.30pm, we decided to walk the transit. When we opened the CYA room door, the senior CYAs were there and asked us to be back at 4pm as their duty starts at 4. Ok, so we had another round walking the public.

4 o'clock. Went back to CYA room, this time, the seniors are leaving le. Felicia checked in the key and we went into the room. But, we do not have the key to our lockers! Then, we went out of the room again and checked out the key. Next, we went to some ulu corner of the airport and revise on whatever we could remember in the transit.

5.30pm. At last, saw Li Fang. At least we do not have to stone anymore. =). Went into the room again and had briefing. 1st duty starts where I'm paired up with another Felicia at central North.

5.50pm. Logged in with the CSO. They seem friendlier in the transit as coompared to the public. Made friends with them. One of them is called Hein but the other, we not sure. A lot of People asked us questions, luckily we know the answers to them. I'll just name some here.

Who?
A mother and son from Indonesia
Problem?
They bought a 4-litre wine which they can't bring onto the plane. It was already 45 minutes before their plane leaves.
Solution?
Felicia went with that guy to the transfer counter where they said the counter is closed already. He couldn't check out and in again because there was no much time left. Meanwhile, I brought the mother to the GST refund and helped her fill in the form. Felicia came back with that guy and told me what happened. We discussed with the CSO and came up with a solution with the man. He will leave his wine at the left baggage and go back to Indonesia. When his friends or whoever that's related to him comes to Singapore, he'll pass the receipt to them as that person will help him bring the wine back. After the problem solved, we had another problem. The mother, who was still at the GST refund is like taking ages there when their plane is leaving in 20minutes and the gate will close 10minuntes before take off, which means they have 10 minutes left. 2 of us tried to hurry them as there gate is quite a distance from the GST refund. %minutes left! Felicia run with the mother and son to F32 which is like so far away. Luckily they managed to get on the plane, if not, I can't imagine what will happen.

Who? A man
Problem?
He lost his wife. His wife needs medical help and he doesn't remember what his wife was wearing.
Solution?
The CSOs paged for his wife. But his wife does not understand english. All we have to do is wait. After like half an hour, that man can't take it anymore and walked away. Some while later, he came back with his wife. I escorted them to F34. On the way there, the man wants to drink water. I brought them to the water cooler. I didn't know that they had no strength to press so I helped them. They don't drink from the cooler like we normally do, they use their hands to cup the water. We proceeded onto the travelator. Never in the world did I worry that that guy was scared of taking the travellator. He was like holding on to the handrails so afraid that he will fall. At last, I saw a glimmer of hope, F34 was straght up ahead. Led them to their gates and went back to Central North. When I turned back, the couple was like continue walking pass F34, I brought them back to their gates again and finally walked back to counter.

After I reached Central North, a businessman asked how to go to F34! Although it was so so far, I still brought him there. On the way there, we chat and reached the gate.

Back at the counter, we encounter people asking where's the pharmacy, post office, lounges and even the Singapore tour.

9.45pm. Duty's coming to and end! A lady approached the counter with a slip of paper in her hand stating Oasis Lounge. I almost fainted that moment. The distance there was like unimaginable when your feet is like breaking already. She doesn'y speak english and I don't know malay. All she told me was sleep. I presumed that she's going to Oasis. I led her there where we 冷场 for the whole time. After she reached Oasis, brought her to the snooze chair and walked all the way back.

10pm. Had debriefing. Oh ya, forgot to state about auditing during our duties. That malay senior audited me and Li Fang audited Felicia. Anyway, I've got the answers partially correct only. Received our vest where we are going to wear next duty and home sweet home.

p.s. Happy Birthday Ying Ying
